Eva Mendes is both an actor as well as a model. A talent agent who saw her and recognized her abilities encouraged her to enter the world of entertainment. After much deliberation, she left the University to join the entertainment world. Her debut was in the film Children of the Corn V : Fields of Terror, which she was not happy with how the film turned out. It took her some period of time to refine her acting and she starred in numerous low-budget productions in attempt to showcase her skills. Although it was not an easy task, the actor's sheer determination and patience were not unrewarded. Her name was praised and she received favorable reviews for her role in the film Training Day after which her acting career took off.
